Two are filled with very colourful, well dressed, high status, Chinese figures depicted socialising on terraced gardens with buildings as the backdrop. The other two have peonies, flowers, fruit, butterflies, insects and birds painted against the white body ground. The remaining surface is further decorated auspicious Chinese symbols painted in green, pink, orange, black enamels and gilding including Lotus flowers, peonies and butterflies. The inner rim has three equally spaced painted peony flower sprays.
This vase dates from the mid 19th century around 1850. Xianfeng was the Emperor on the throne at this time during the Qing. It is in good antique condition with a large (6 cm) filled and disguised chip to the rim (restored) and a hairline on the inside of the vase opposite the repair. This repair is more obvious on the inside than on the outside.
Other than this damage the vase is in very good condition, it still displays well. This is a lovely item to add to any collection of a Chinese famille rose mandarin ware or antique porcelain or ceramics.
