C Qianlong Set Porcelain Plates x 4 Imari Palette Flowers. A lovely, Set of Four, fine porcelain, Chinese Antique, mid 18. Theses lovely plates are very prettily decorated with hand painted, delicate floral sprigs, of prunus flower, lotus and peony, in shades of cobalt blue, iron red and gold, all arranged around a central floral sprig surrounded by double blue lined circle, the pattern repeated on rim all contained within double and single concentric circles. Two branching sprays decorate the backs of each.
The pattern is alternated in direction, which looks charming when laid out on table. These lovely plates are hand potted, each slightly individual, with some little soft depressions to the reverse where the potters from the ancient Chinese kilns have gently held the porcelain during production. The rims are dressed with a brown glaze, the foot rims unglazed.
Each plate has a diameter of - 8 1/2 inches (22 cm). Four branching hairline crack to base, with Y shaped hairline visible to front, three further hairlines to reverse rim, two of which are also visible to front, some fritting, slight chipping to rim edge, some light scratching and rubbing, two firing faults to front.
