Mottahedeh Reproduction Chinese Export Parrot Covered Porcelain Vase

  

Vintage Mottahedeh Chinese Export Covered Baluster Parrot Vase. The gilt foo dog finial over a slightly domed lid with a gilt line. Fitting on a baluster shape vase with a raised quatrefoil enclosing a blue purple yellow parrot sitting on a swing and with a sprig of cherries in its claw.

The lower smaller quatrefoil enclosing famille rose flowers with green stems and leaves. The sides of the vase with large sprays of iron red flowers with green leaves and stems.

The reverse with the same decoration. The whole with a slightly blue green glaze. The underside with a partial Mottahedeh Designs label and painted with Lowestoft Reproduction / Created by Mottahedeh.

In very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Mottahedeh, 2nd half of the 20th century. Measures 15" high, 7" wide, 3 deep approx.
