Description A finely painted Chinese porcelain charger, early 19th century beautifully painted in the Kangxi "famille verte" style of the late 17th/early 18th century. There is a central roundel decorated with a delicate basket full of flowers. This is surrounded with a further eight reserve panels of beautifully painted popular Buddhist symbols. A further eight smaller circular roundels are evenly spaced around a diamond diaper border, each decorated with a floral spray, possibly mimosa. The palette of colours and gilding are the same as one would expect to see on a Kangxi period piece, the reverse is unmarked but decorated with three trailing sprays of roses, as some period pieces were. This beautiful item comes with a copy of a recent attribution and valuation report which takes into account it's condition. Condition The item has a rim section missing between 12 and 1 o'clock. This has been recently professionally restored and is not immediately apparent. There are two small rim chips which have been sympathetically filled, and many tiny rim frits which have been left as they are a common feature of this type of ware. There are no cracks, or other restorations other than those mentioned.
