19th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Blue Canton Soup Tureen Make-Do Finial. This is a wonderful 19th century Chinese export porcelain blue Canton soup tureen with boar's head handles and make-do finial. Overall, the tureen measures approximately 12-1/2 long between the original boar's head handles. It stands 5" high to the rim of the tureen (cover off), 8-3/4" high, overall, to the top of the make-do replaced finial.

It is in beautiful estate condition with NO chips and NO cracks. It shows period appropriate production glaze pits, iron and bubble specks from the firing process.

The lid shows the old make-do replacement finial with the fastening screw and wing-nut, as shown in the photos. The blue Canton painted decoration matches both the tureen and the original cover.
